Hi there! I took a little break, but now I'm back! My inspirational level went pretty low this week so I couldn't make any good manicures and all the pictures I captured were really bad.
Anyway! Today it's a special day, it's United In Green (hosted by Karin at Vacker & Underbar) which is a theme week to raise awareness about depression. You might not know this but October is not only pink, it's also green for depression.
Today is the last day of the week and Karin collaborated with Lela at Lelack for Nail Art Sunday, so they decided that the theme would be Love! 'Cause you know, love is amazing.
Not only is it Nail Art Sunday and United in Green, it's also day 22 and that means that I also need to be inspired by a song. Well that's a lot of things to include in one manicure, but I gave it a try and this is the result!

So, as I said, I had a lot of things to include in one manicure and that was reeeeaally hard. I decided to be inspired by a song that I love from a band that was introduced to me by someone I used to love. The song is The Greener Grass by Fair To Midland. It's amazing.
So I made grass on my nails. You know, the greener grass represents life without depression and the brown grass, the withered grass represents depression.
I really like this manicure!
I used China Glaze New Birth as a base. It's a beautiful really pale blue creme from the Giver collection. The green to brown polishes are the following: China Glaze Holly-Day, Smitten Polish Electric Lime, China Glaze OMG A UFO, NYC Backstage Brown and finally Smitten Polish Seasonal Lattes.

31DC2013 Day 15: Delicate Print - Ugly lace

Jag är sjuk. Så jag orkar inte skriva. Här får ni se dåliga bilder på en ful manikyr. Temat för Nail Art Söndag är spets och dagens utmaning är Delicate Print.

Jag har använt Depend 230 och Nordic Cap NP12. Jag har freehandat allt, och det blev inte alls som jag ville. Inte nöjd, men jag orkar inte göra om. Nu ska jag dricka te. Heeejdåå!


I'm sick. So I don't have the energy to write. Here you have some bad pictures of an ugly manicure. The theme for Nail Art Sunday is lace and todays challenge is Delicate Print. 

I've used Depend 230 and Nordic Cap NP12. I've freehanded it all, and it didn't turn out as I wanted. Not happy, but I don't have the energy to start over. I'm going to drink some tea now. Byyyeee!

31DC2013 Day 8: Metallic - Metal Studs

Japp. Jag använde nitar igen. Och jag vet inte varför min kamera flippade ur, men jag är medveten om att det ser förbaskat konstigt ut runt nitarna. Som att jag lagt på för mycket skärpa, men det har jag inte. Så nu vet ni!
Idag är det alltså metallic som gäller, och jag gick all in.

Det ser ut som att lacket är repat och ojämnt och fult, men det är det inte. Jag lovar! Vad ni ser är iallafall Nfu Oh GS06 i två lager och nitar från born pretty store.
Jag anser att detta är ett foillack, vad tycker ni?
Bra formula iallafall!

Yep. I used studs again. And I don't know why my camera freaked out, but I am aware of how weird it looks around the studs. Looks like I put on too much sharpness, but I have not. So now you know!
Today it's metallic nails, and I went all in.

It looks like the polish is scratched and uneven and ugly, but that's not the case. I promise! Anyway, what you see is Nfu Oh GS06 in two coats and studs from born pretty store.
I would consider this as a foil polish, what do you think?

Nail Art Sunday: "Rockin' Bowie"

Nail Art Söndag hos LeLack och temat är rock! Jag tänkte att det skulle bli mycket svart och rött idag, och jag visade ju en svart och röd nail art förra helgen, så något i den stilen var jag inte alls sugen på. Därför blev det vitt och Bowie inspirerat. Jag lyssnar inte på David Bowie, men jag kände att detta var precis vad jag ville göra ändå.

Nail Art Sunday at LeLack and the theme is rock! I thought that we'll see a lot of black and red today, and I showed you a mani with black and red last week, so I didn't feel like doing that. So I went white and Bowie inspired instead! I don't listen to David Bowie but I felt like this was exactly what I wanted to do today.

Hej sötbullar! Idag är det söndag, vilket innebär att den svenska nagelbloggsvärlden kryllar av nail art i alla möjliga former, tack vare Lela på LeLack.
Idag gör jag min första riktiga recension, på ett paket med nail art lack jag fick av min söta mamma i julklapp. Setet innehåller fem nail art lack med "pennor" och kommer ifrån nPw som är ett engelskt företag som säljer diverse presentartiklar, inklusive nail art tillbehör. Jag kommer att visa er massor av bilder och försöka att vara lagom kortfattad eftersom vi ska gå igenom fem olika lack och fem olika nail arts.

Hi cute buns! Today it is Sunday, which means that the swedish nail blog world is full of all kinds of nail art, thanks to Lela at LeLack.
Today I will do my first real review, a review on a nail art polish set that my mom gave me for christmas. The set contains five nail art polishes with nail art "pens" and is from nPw, a brittish company that sells all kinds of gift products, including nail art stuff. I will show you alot of pictures and I will try to keep it kind of short, 'cause we will look at five different polishes and five different nail arts.

Reversed Glitter Gradient With Ciaté Mini Mani Month

Ojdå. Vad hände? Två veckor in på det nya året och detta är mitt första blogginlägg. Jo, jag ska berätta lite snabbt. Jag besökte min pojkvän under nyår och fick åka hem första januari. Jag jobbade nämligen 2-4 januari. Sedan var det helg igen och jag åkte till min pojkvän igen. Och jag fick förlängt en vecka på jobbet, så jag har jobbat hela denna veckan också. När jag har kommit hem från jobbet har jag varit helt slut, så himla trött, så jag har inte orkat blogga. Och förresten, jag fick förlängt en vecka till, så jag jobbar nästa vecka med. Så är det!
Jag tänkte börja året med att visa tre lack ur Ciatés Mini Mani Month (en nagellacksjulkalender!!) som jag så ivrigt köpte. Jag var dock ganska besviken på den, men mer om det senare. Jag gjorde en omvänd glittergradient med Headliner och två av de tre glitterlacken som var begränsade till kalendern och heter Glass Slipper och Magic Carpet. Och vet ni vad, det är ju Nail Art Sunday idag! Vad passande!

Lamplight

Innan jag börjar berätta om lacken så vill jag bara berätta att jag har testat en annan inställning på min kamera, så jag vill gärna höra er åsikt om bilderna.

Headliner är ett turkost krämlack med en bra formula. Den täcker i ett lager, men jag har två lager på bilderna, och jag ska berätta varför allra längst ned i detta inlägget. Nåväl. Det är ett bra lack och jag kommer garanterat använda det fler gånger. Färgen är ju inte speciellt unik, men den täcker ju faktiskt på ett lager!

Glass Slipper var det första limited edition lacken man fick i kalendern. Det är ett blått glitterlack med klar bas. Man skulle kunna tro att det bara är en storlek på glittret, men när jag swatchade det på en swatchstick så såg jag att det faktiskt är två storlekar! Men, båda storlekarna är så små att man inte ser det speciellt mycket.

Magic Carpet var det andra limited edition lacket man fick i kalendern. Det är ett rosa glitterlack som man vid första anblick trodde var likadant som Glass Slipper, fast rosa, men icke! Magic Carpet består av större rosa hexagoner och smått rosa glitter. Dock är det inga stora hexagoner. Hur var detta lacket att måla med? Jo. Scrolla förbi den engelska delen så får ni se.


Woops. What happened? Two weeks into the new year and this is my first blogpost. Well, I'll tell you quickly. I visited my boyfriend at New Years Eve, and had to go home the next day. I was working the 2nd-4rd. Then it was weekend again and I went back to visit my boyfriend. And my employment was extended another week so I've been working all week. When I got home from work I was so exhausted and tired so I didn't have the energy to blog. And by the way, I got extended another week so I will be working next week to.
I thought that I could start the year with some polishes from Ciatés Mini Mani Month Calendar. I was kinda dissapointed with it though, but I'll get to that later. I did a reversed glitter gradient using Headliner and two of the glitter polished that was limited to this calendar, named Glass Slipper and Magic Carpet. And you know what? It's Nail Art Sunday today! How appropriate!

Before I start with the polishes I just want to let you know that I've tried a different setting on my camera and would love to here your opinion on these photos.

Headliner is a turquoise creme polish with a nice formula. It covers in one coat, but I'm wearing two in these pictures, but I will tell you why in the end of this post. Oh well. It's a good polish and I can guarantee that I will use it again. The color isn't unique though, but seriously, it covers in one coat!

Glass Slipper was the first of the limited edition polishes that you got in the calendar. It's a blue glitter polish with a clear base. You might think that it's only one kind of glitter in it, but when I swatched it on a swatchstick I saw that it actually contains two sizes of blue glitter. But, the sizes are so tiny so you can't really see any differense.

Magic Carpet was the second of the limited edition polishes that you got in the calendar. It's a pink glitter polish that in first sight looks like the a pink version of Glass Slipper, but nope! Magic Carpet contains bigger pink hexagons and tiny pink glitter. It's not big hexagons though. How was the application of this polish? Well.. I'll show you.

I will show you two pictures. One with the brush I got with Headliner and one with the brush I got with Magic Carpet.


I'm so disappointed with this. First, when I opened the Headliner bottle, I was like "Well, this isn't right, it shouldn't look like this". At least I was able to use it, but thanks to this brush, one coat is not enough for me.
Then I opened the Magic Carpet bottle, and I was like "Seriously?! What the friggin flower is this?" (Okay, I didn't say friggin flower)
It doesn't end here, I'm disappointed with more things on this calendar. The first bottle I got had the bow on the middle of the bottle. Over the label! A lot of my bottles got polish stains on the outside of the bottle, and polish on the bottleneck. I got several brushes that was a bit twisted, like Headliner, but less.
Other than this, I actually think that Ciaté should have put more exciting polishes in the calendar, 'cause I think it was kinda boring. I was disappointed with the limited edition polishes, 'cause they are not special or unique at all. Not even close. Why didn't they put a bottle of a cool duochrome or something in there?

I will stop with the whining now. Hope you liked your calendar if you got one!

Nail Art Sunday "Hey, Sailor!"

Söndag! Nail Art Sunday! Lela som driver bloggen LeLack har beslutat att Nail Art Sunday numera ska ha ett tema. Vad spännande! Idag är temat fransk manikyr, men man får göra den hur man vill. Jag använde H-lacket som inspiration och gjorde en sailor inspirerad fransk manikyr. Här har vi Hey, Sailor!

Daylight

Basen i denna manikyr är Hey Sailor från China Glaze. Det är ett rött krämlack som släpptes i vårkollektionen Anchors Away från 2011. Hela Anchors Away kollektionen är inspirerad av allt som har med havet att göra och är fantastiskt fin. Jag började med att måla två lager av Hey Sailor på hela nageln. Formulan på denna är bra, men jag tycker att den är liiiite för rinnig för min smak.
Därefter tejpade jag naglarna med maskeringstejp så att jag skulle få en fin och skarp linje innan jag målade det blå lacket, vilket är ett av mina favoritlack som börjar ta slut, Depend 171. Det är en helt fantastisk one coater.
Till sist målade jag en vit rand med hjälp av en striping pensel och lite vitt lack. Lacket jag använde är något skitlack från något fransk manikyr set.
Jag beslutade mig för att göra ett litet ankare på ringfingernaglarna och då använde jag Depend 223 och en nail art pensel.
Två lager topplack har jag avslutat med för att få en jämn och glansig yta!

Sunday! Nail Art Sunday! Lela, who runs the blog LeLack has decided that Nail Art Sunday should have a theme. How exciting! Todays theme is french manicure but you could do it how ever you want it to. I used the H-polish as insperation and did a sailor-inspired french manicure. This is Hey, Sailor!

The base in this manicure is Hey Sailor by China Glaze. It's a red creme polish from the 2011 spring collection Anchors Away. All of the polishes in the Anchors Away collection is inspired by the ocean and everything that goes with it and it's a beautiful collection. I started with two coats of Hey Sailor. The formula is good but quite runny for my taste.
After that I put some maskingtape on the nails so I would get a fine and crisp line before I applied the blue polish, which is one of my favorites, Depend 171. It's fabulous one coater.
Finally I painted a stripe of white with a striping brush. I used a crappy white polish from an old french manicure set.
I also decided to paint a little anchor on my ring fingernails and for that I used Depend 223 and a nail art brush.
I sealed the manicure with two coats of top coat for a smooth and shiny surface.
